An officer identified as Todd Lefkowitz was rear-ended and ejected from his police motorcycle by a distracted driver on Monday, March 1st.
Police have identified the distracted driver as 40-year-old Jamie Ornelas-Luna, who did not show signs of driving under impairment or was injured in the accident. The Chico Police Officer-involved accident happened at the intersection of East 1st Ave and Neal Dow Avenue.
Luckily, Mr. Lefkowitz sustained only minor injuries and his motorcycle had minor damages.
