On Thursday evening, Fire units promptly responded and put out a quarter-acre brush fire at 8336 W. Mulholland Drive, west of Laurel Canyon in Studio City.
The fire kindled when a car struck a power pole at about 4 p.m. The blow brought the active power pole down on the ground, triggering a brush fire. The Los Angeles Fire Department managed to extinguish the fire quickly and no structures are currently threatened.
Authorities closed down the section of Mulholland Drive where the incident occurred as crews repair the damage and it is not clear when it will reopen. Paramedics are on scene, examining a sole occupant from the vehicle, but they have not provided any details regarding the condition of the driver as of now.
An investigation is ongoing at this time.
