Boy hurt after a bicycle accident in San Antonio (San Antonio, TX)

On early Tuesday morning, a teenage boy was hospitalized after he was struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle in San Antonio.

As per the initial information, officers actively responded to the intersection of Quintard Street and East White Avenue, not far from Mission Road and East Southcross at about 12:10 a.m. in response to a bicycle accident. The preliminary reports showed that the SUV hit the teen while he rode out into the intersection. According to the officials, the intersection is dark and the driver failed to see the bicyclist until it was too late.

On arrival, paramedics transported the victim to University Hospital in stable condition. The driver of the SUV stopped to render aid. The driver was found not to be drunk and no charges are expected to be filed. Multiple agencies responded to the scene. No other details are immediately available.

The crash remains under investigation.
