Bicyclist killed after a hit-and-run crash in Sulphur; 30-year-old Marcus Pentecost arrested (Sulphur, LA)

On Thursday, a bicyclist was killed following a two-vehicle accident in Sulphur while authorities arrested 30-year-old Marcus Pentecost who left the scene after hitting the cyclist.

As per the initial information, the fatal hit-and-run crash took place on Lewis Street in Sulphur. The early reports showed that a 2010 Jeep Cherokee driven by Marcus Pentecost hit and killed the bicyclist before leaving the scene at about 8 p.m. last night.

Pentecost has been detained for negligent homicide, hit and run, driving with a suspended license, and careless operation. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. No additional information has been provided.

The incident remains under active review.
