Bicyclist injured following a hit-and-run accident in Fresno (Fresno, CA)

One person received injuries following a bicycle crash Saturday night in Fresno.

As per the initial information, the hit-and-run accident took place at 9:30 p.m. on Highway 41 on-ramp onto East Shaw Avenue. The preliminary reports showed that a vehicle hit the bicyclist then immediately left the scene. According to an eyewitness, the vehicle didn’t stop at the stoplight and struck the bicyclist who was in the crosswalk and had the right of way.

The bicyclist was thrown off from the bike due to the impact. The car passenger then reportedly came out, kicked the bike off and fled the scene without rendering aid to the victim. The hit-and-run vehicle was described as a white hatchback with a possible red sticker on the back window. No other details are available.

The incident remains under active review.
