Authorities identify Damond L. Eidegrass who died on I-5 near Ridgefield (Ridgefield, WA)

Authorities identify 20-year-old Damond L. Eidegrass on early Thursday morning. Repeatedly, various vehicles hit him on I-5 near Ridgefield.

Damond L. Eidegrass was walking in the second lane of the freeway near milepost 9 at about 3 a.m. Meanwhile, Hardip Singh driving a 2013 Kenworth truck struck him. Subsequently three other vehicles hit him, including Derek L. Broetje, 37, of Milwaukie 31 driving a 2017 BMW, Joy H. Price, 31, of Albany steering a 2020 Freightliner truck,  and Veronica Minjarez, 47, of Vancouver driving a 2008 Honda Civic.

Eidegrass died at the scene. Moreover, the wreck did not cause injuries to anyone else. Afterwards, medics admitted Price to Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center as a precautionary measure.

Furthermore, authorities shut down the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 south of 179th Street near Ridgefield for almost four hours.

However, they opened southbound traffic lanes again for traffic shortly after 7 a.m.

As per officials, drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash.
