Authorities identified 81-year-old Patricia Snuggs who was killed in a three-vehicle accident in Sumner (Sumner, WA)

Authorities recognized 81-year-old Patricia Snuggs of Mount Vernon as the woman who died after her pickup truck hit a car and a semi-truck on state Route 167 in Sumner.

Reports showed that Snuggs was heading south in a Ford F350 when she rear-ended a Mazda CX-5 at about 1:30 p.m. on Friday. The force of the crash caused the car to be rolled into a ditch on the right side of the road. Snugg’s truck then struck a semi-trailer from behind.

On arrival, officials declared her deceased. The driver of the car, a 55-year-old Tacoma man, and the truck driver, a 51-year-old Puyallup man, did not suffer any injuries. Officers shut down lanes at SR 167 and SR 410 for more than three hours.

The authorities will continue to investigate the cause that led to the fatal crash.
