Officials identified 77-year-old Roger Russell as the man who lost his life following a two-vehicle accident Friday morning in Moraga.
The fatal bicycle crash took place on Moraga Road near Lucas Drive at around 10:15 a.m. According to the investigation reports, Roger Russell was riding on Moraga Road when he got hit by a vehicle. He suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials.
No other injuries were reported as a result of the accident. The incident led to the closure of Moraga Road between Rheem Boulevard and Lucas Drive for several hours as crews worked at the scene. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene after the collision. No additional information has been released.
The crash remains under investigation.
