Authorities identified 77-year-old Larry Ronald Sillman who died after a pedestrian crash near Miramar (San Diego, CA)

On Wednesday, authorities identified 77-year-old Larry Ronald Sillman, of La Jolla, as the elderly man who died after getting struck by a car near Miramar last week.

The investigation reports showed that Larry Ronald Sillman was hit at about 5:30 p.m. Dec. 15 in the 8100 block of Camino Santa Fe. According to the county medical examiner’s office, a car struck Sillman while he was standing in the northbound lane next to his vehicle.

The driver of the car that hit Sillman stopped and called 911 for help, the San Diego Medical Examiner’s office stated. Sillman was rushed to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, where he was declared dead about half an hour after the accident. No other details are available.

An investigation is ongoing.
