Authorities identified 73-year-old Anthony Colonnese Jr. who died after a crash in San Francisco (San Francisco, CA)

On Thursday, officials identified 73-year-old Anthony Colonnese Jr., a San Francisco resident, as the man who lost his life after a single-vehicle crash in San Francisco on Wednesday.

As per the initial information, Colonnese Jr.’s car fell off a winding, Cliffside road, south of San Francisco and landed on a beach more than 200 feet (60 meters) below. The preliminary investigation revealed that the vehicle went off Highway 1.

Officials used a drone to locate Colonnese Jr. who was later found ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by the officials. Investigators shut down a stretch of the highway for some time to accommodate emergency vehicles. No other details are immediately available.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
