Authorities identified 71-year-old Niles Noble who died after a car crash in Stockbridge (Stockbridge, GA)

Authorities identified 71-year-old Niles Noble as the man who lost his life following a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 675 Monday evening.

Niles Noble, 71, died from his injuries suffered in the accident and subsequent fire. The investigation reports showed that the vehicle he was driving veered off the roadway toward a group of trees, near the entrance ramp on State Route 138.

The reports further revealed that Nobles tried to turn the car at the last minute but failed to do that. The car came to a stop raised up and stuck between multiple trees before it caught on fire. The reports also indicated that several witnesses attempted to open the vehicle’s door, but were unable to do that due to the damage.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
