Authorities identified 67-year-old Stanley Swantek who lost consciousness and died in roadway (Glendora, CA)

On Saturday, officials named 67-year-old Stanley Swantek who lost consciousness while riding a bicycle and died in the roadway, North of Glendora. On arrival, paramedics declared him deceased at the scene.

The bicyclist was identified as Stanley Swantek of Pasadena, as per the Los Angeles County coroner’s office. The incident happened shortly before noon Friday on Glendora Mountain Road at mile marker 12.06, according to the CHP.

Swantek was riding on his Trek bicycle on Glendora Mountain Road when he started “experiencing complications from an unknown medical condition and lost consciousness,” said in a CHP statement. A bystander began performing CPR on Swantek and then paramedics took over when they arrived at the scene, but the victim died at 12:22 p.m.

The incident is under active review.
