Authorities identified 64-year-old Edward Shephard who died in a motorcycle accident on Sunday (Mountlake Terrace, WA)

Authorities released the name of 64-year-old Edward Shephard, a resident of Mountlake Terrace, as the man who lost his life in a fatal motorcycle accident on Sunday afternoon in Snohomish.

According to the reports, Shephard was riding his motorcycle on South Machias Road and missed a curve, continued straight and crashed a short distance off the roadway. On arrival, responders performed CPR on Shephard, but he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

No other vehicles were reportedly involved in the accident. The cause and manner of death are still pending, officials added. Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office deputies quickly responded to the July 25 crash just after 2 p.m.

The road was shut down for several hours on Sunday afternoon during investigation process. As of now, speed, drugs or alcohol do not appear to have played a factor in the accident.

The cause of the crash is under review.
