Authorities identified 60-year-old Ronald Barksdale who lost his life following an auto-pedestrian crash on Tuesday morning in Columbus.

The incident took place in the 1400 block of Veterans Parkway on July 13 at around 5:44 a.m. As per Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan, the deceased has been identified as 60-year-old Ronald Barksdale. Barskdale was declared dead at 6:28 a.m.

It is unclear if the driver of the vehicle who struck the pedestrian remained at the scene or fled after the accident. Bryan stated that he would need help in identifying the victim’s kin as he is homeless. If anyone has any information about Barksdale, they should contact the coroner’s office.

An investigation is ongoing at this time.
