Authorities identified 4-year-old Latrell Hutchinson who was injured in a hit-and-run crash in Luling (Luling, LA)

Authorities released the name of the child as 4-year-old Latrell Hutchinson who was seriously injured in a hit-and-run accident on 4th of July.

Officers actively responded to the crash scene in the 600 block of Paul Fredrick Street in Luling. According to the officials, an unknown make or model dark-colored sports utility vehicle moving at a high rate of speed hit a 4-year-old child that was in the roadway.

The child is expected to survive, according to his mother. Hutchinson is at Children’s Hospital under observation. According to Hutchinson’s mother, Aliasha Harris, when Hutchinson was hit by the SUV, he went under the vehicle and received severe bruises and cuts on his face.

He also suffered a fracture in his arm and a severe cut on his liver. The driver of the vehicle firstly stopped, but escaped from the scene shortly after. Authorities described the driver as a man with dreadlocks.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing at this time.
