On Monday, authorities identified 33-year-old Yangyang Liu as the woman who died after being hit by a car while crossing a Pasadena street last week.

Yangyang Liu, 33, of Pasadena died on the scene from blunt-force head trauma, according to the coroner’s office. As per the initial information, the fatal pedestrian accident took place at Allen Avenue and San Pasqual Street at around 11:20 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 26.

The speed limit in the area where the incident happened is 30 mph. The speed at which the 2007 BMW 328i was going before the collision has not been determined yet, but police believe that the driver was going above the speed limit.

The investigation reports showed that the driver was traveling south on Allen when they ran a stop sign at the intersection and struck the woman who was crossing that street. According to the officials, the intersection is clearly marked. They also added that the driver either missed it or was inattentive.

The reports also revealed that there is also a sign before the intersection alerting drivers there is an upcoming stop sign. The driver did not flee the scene and cooperated with the police. The driver, a 20-year-old Pasadena man, was not arrested or cited. No other details are available.
