Authorities identified 27-year-old Cory Jackson as the man who lost his life while several others were injured following a multi-vehicle accident on Florida Boulevard.
As per the initial information, the fatal incident took place in the 8000 block of Florida Boulevard at about 12:45 a.m. Saturday. The deceased was identified as Cory Jackson. The preliminary investigation showed that wreck involved three vehicles, including a 2012 Nissan Altima, a 2014 Mercedes GL550 and a 2006 Ford F150.
Reports revealed that the Mercedes was stopped behind the Ford at a red light on Florida at Wooddale Boulevard while waiting for the light to change when the Nissan rear-ended the Mercedes, propelling it to hit the Ford.
Jackson was driving the Nissan and police confirmed that he died of his injuries at a local hospital. He was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. The occupants of the Mercedes and Ford incurred minimal injuries.
Traffic Homicide Investigators are looking into this crash.
