Authorities identified 21-year-old William Pinkney who died in a rollover accident (Jackson County, MI)

Authorities identified 21-year-old William Pinkney, of Detroit, as the man who lost his life after a rollover crash on Nov. 10.

As per the initial information, the fatal car accident happened just before 8:45 a.m. Nov. 10, on eastbound I-94, east of Hawkins Road in Leoni Township. Authorities actively responded to the crash scene and, on arrival, found a 2007 Jeep Compass resting upside down, south of the roadway.

The investigation reports indicated that Pinkney was ejected as it flipped, and the vehicle came to a stop on top of him, trapping him underneath. Emergency crews used air-bag extrication equipment to remove Pinkney and then rushed him to Henry Ford Allegiance Health, where he succumbed to his injuries. No other details are available.

An investigation is ongoing.
