Authorities identified 21-year-old Elijah Hernandez who died in Colfax crash (Colfax, WA)

Washington State Patrol released the name of 21-year-old Elijah Hernandez, a resident of Richland, who lost his life in a fatal single-vehicle rollover accident on Wednesday afternoon.

The incident happened on 15 miles west of Colfax on State Route 26. Elijah Hernandez was the driver of the vehicle. He was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane where he succumbed to his injuries.

19-year-old Bobby Garcia, from Mabton, was the passenger who died at the scene. The car, a 1992 Chevrolet Lumina, was going east at around 1:30 p.m. when it left the road to the right, rolled twice and came to rest on its top. Hernandez was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. Officials confirmed that drugs or alcohol did not play a part in the crash.

An investigation is underway.
