Authorities identified 21-year-old Alberto Anthony Urbina who was killed after being hit by a vehicle in Phoenix.

The fatal incident took place near 43rd Avenue and Butler Drive. According to the officers, the pedestrian was in a crosswalk when a driver traveling at a high rate of speed fatally struck the person. The pedestrian succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Authorities believe that the driver, identified as 21-year-old Sebastian Garcia-Castillo, was impaired, but police did not specify if the impairment was caused by drugs or alcohol. The driver was booked into jail and will face a manslaughter charge.

An investigation is ongoing at this time.
