Authorities identified 15-year-old Keith Young who died after a hit-and-run accident that happened on Friday evening.

As per the initial information, officers responded to the area of South Durango Drive and West Robindale Road at about 7:45 p.m. on Sept. 10 on reports of a crash involving a juvenile pedestrian. The investigation reports showed that two teens were crossing Durango against a traffic signal when a vehicle traveling northbound hit one of the teens. Officials described the vehicle as a 2011-2017 red Dodge Charger.

The boy was rushed to University Medical Center where he was declared deceased. The Clark County Coroner’s Office identified the boy as Keith Young, 15, of Las Vegas. He died of blunt force trauma in an accident, the coroner ruled. The car that hit the boy fled the scene. Police mentioned that the vehicle is missing a side view mirror and also has windshield damage.

The crash remains under active review.
