According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal crash was reported on Monday morning in Long Beach. Officials confirmed that at least five people died due to the motor vehicle accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred near the 91 Freeway. A Hyundai Sonata struck attenuators, near a freeway exit. As a result of the collision, at least five persons were pronounced dead at the scene.
Two of the victims were identified as 15-year-old George Dobbs and Ariahh Slemaker. The identities of the other deceased persons are yet to be released.
The cause of the collision is pending determination. The crash continues to be investigated by the CHP.
