A pedestrian was struck and injured by a vehicle on Tuesday night in Chula Vista, as confirmed by police. The collision occurred shortly before 8:40 p.m. on H Street near Third Avenue, according to Chula Vista police Lt. Lamar Barrett.
The 18-year-old driver involved in the pedestrian incident stopped after the crash and cooperated with authorities. Barrett stated that drugs or alcohol were not contributing factors in the collision, which remains under investigation.
Paramedics transported the pedestrian to a hospital due to head trauma sustained in the incident. Further details regarding the victim’s condition were not released at this time. The investigation into the fatal crash is ongoing.
