Tragedy struck on Monday, March 11, in a fatal three-vehicle crash on SR 77 near Biosphere 2, resulting in at least one casualty. The Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) reported that the accident occurred around 11:10 a.m. when an 18-wheeler overturned.
Regrettably, a passenger traveling in the truck lost their life in the incident. DPS also mentioned that an individual from one of the other vehicles involved was transported to a local hospital, although their condition was not disclosed.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash to determine the factors that led to this tragic outcome. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
