The Houston Police Department is currently investigating a fatal crash involving an Alief ISD school bus and another vehicle in southwest Houston. The tragic incident occurred around 4:25 p.m. along Highway 59 at Fountainview when a Volkswagen collided with the school bus.

According to an Alief ISD spokesperson, the students on the bus were returning from an out-of-city event. Thankfully, all students are reported to be safe, and no injuries were reported among them.

As a result of the crash, the southbound lanes of Highway 59 have been shut down. While details regarding the cause of the accident are limited at this time, authorities are working to determine what led to this devastating collision.
