The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported a fiery multi-vehicle collision on Monday.
The accident occurred on the Pacific Coast Highway at around 1 p.m.
The officials reported that the crash started with a Lexus sped down an incline and struck several warning markers in the center median. The vehicle then struck a pickup truck which in turn struck a motorcycle.
The Lexus then crashed into a 30-foot-high embankment. While the driver was trying to get removed, the vehicle caught on fire and exploded.
The driver of the Lexus was then airlifted to a hospital. It is not known if the victim died while en route to or at the hospital.
There have been no reports on the extent of the injuries faced by the driver of the pickup truck and the motorcyclist.
The fatal accident is still being investigated.
There are no other details available at the moment.
