The Arizona Department of Transportation reported a tragic three-vehicle fatal crash at milepost 304, Interstate 10, which was closed near Benson. The closure occurred on Friday, Nov. 24, disrupting traffic in the area.
Details about the victims and the circumstances surrounding the collision are currently limited. At least one person was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim is not yet known at this time.
The multi-vehicle accident necessitated the closure to facilitate the investigation and clear the roadway for safe travel. Authorities are likely to continue their efforts to determine the cause of the incident and identify those involved. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the fatal crash.
