The Arizona Department of Public Safety reported a motor vehicle crash on Friday morning. The accident happened at around 5:45 a.m.
According to the officials, the collision involved three vehicles. The events leading up to the collision are not yet known at this time.
The DPS did not specify how many people were hurt or killed, only that it was a fatal crash involving three vehicles. They have also not disclosed the identities of those who were injured.
During the closure, westbound traffic in Glendale had to exit at 59th Avenue to take a diversion around the accident scene close to 67th Avenue. The motorway was reopened around 9:15 a.m. There was no effect on the eastbound lanes.
