The California Highway Patrol reported a single-vehicle accident on Friday. The accident occurred on Highway 65, east of Delano, at around 12:07 p.m.
According to the officials, a Kia Forte was heading south on the highway when it veered to the right and off the road. It then hit a power pole.
The driver of the vehicle, identified only as a 75-year-old man, had incurred fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the driver has not been disclosed at this time.
The fatal accident is still being investigated at this time. The authorities have reported that they do not suspect alcohol or drugs to have played a role in the accident. There are no other details available at this time.
