State Route 88, popularly known as Apache Trail, in Apache Junction has reopened after a fatal crash occurred on Wednesday evening, leading to a temporary road closure.
The motor vehicle accident occurred south of Tepee Street.
According to the officials, several vehicles were involved in the collision. The events leading up to the crash have not been disclosed. At least one person was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim is not yet known at this time.
The tragic incident prompted the closure of North Apache Trail in both directions, spanning from Tepee Street to Idaho Road.
The road closure remained in effect until Thursday morning. Authorities have not released information regarding the cause of the crash. Investigations into the deadly fatal crash are ongoing.
