According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal crash was reported on Wednesday in San Ysidro. Officials confirmed that at least one person died due to the motor vehicle accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred on Interstate 805, near the Camino De La Plaza off-ramp. The van was traveling southbound when it was struck by a sedan that made a wrong turn.
The driver of the van was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck. The driver of the sedan sustained multiple injuries. The identity of the deceased victim is not yet known at this time.
Further insights pertaining to the collision are pending determination. The crash continues to be investigated by the CHP.
