Two lives were tragically cut short in a head-on collision early Saturday on Interstate 45. The authorities identified the victims as Ana Fernanda Rascon, 22, of Kingwood, and Louis Ruben Aguillon-Torres, 49, of Texas City.
The League City police suspect, Rascon, drove her Volkswagen in the wrong direction in the 2900 block of Interstate 45 around 3:30 a.m., leading to the fatal crash. The Galveston County Medical Examiner’s Office cited multiple blunt-force injuries as the cause of death.
Aguillon-Torres and Rascon were fatally injured and were pronounced dead at the scene, while a female passenger with Aguillon-Torres received treatment.
The League City police crash team is diligently investigating the motor vehicle accident. The role of alcohol remains uncertain, pending a toxicology report.
