An auto-pedestrian crash seriously injured an 82-year-old woman in Tierrasanta (San Diego, CA)

On Wednesday, an 82-year-old woman sustained serious injuries after being hit by a car while she was crossing the road in Tierrasanta.

The preliminary reports revealed that the 82-year-old woman was walking across the street at 10900 Montego Drive when she was struck by a 76-year-old woman who was driving a Mazda CX-5 at about 8:20 p.m.

On arrival, emergency responders rushed the victim to the hospital. She suffered a fractured tibia and/or fibula among other major injuries. Authorities have not released the identities of the injured victim and the involved driver at this time. No other details are available.

The incident remains under active review.
