An auto-pedestrian crash claimed the life of a woman on Central Avenue (Riverside, CA)

On Thursday, a woman was killed after an auto-pedestrian accident on Central Avenue.

The incident took place at around 9:15 p.m. at the intersection with Wilderness Avenue, near Riverside Municipal Airport. Reports showed that the woman was pushing a shopping cart when a 2000 Mercedes-Benz driven by a 52-year-old woman from Riverside hit her.

A 22-year-old Fontana man driving a Hyundai Elantra behind the Mercedes also hit the victim. Officers mentioned that both the drivers stopped and called 911 to report the crash. However, the pedestrian succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Officials will release the identity of the victim after notifying the next of kin. No arrests have been made as of this moment.

An investigation into the fatal crash is underway.
