An auto-pedestrian crash claimed life of a man on Highway 58 (Bakersfield, CA)

On Friday, a man lost his life after being struck by a vehicle on Highway 58.

As per the initial information, the fatal pedestrian accident happened at about 3:49 a.m. A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a vehicle early this morning on Highway 58, west of the Cottonwood Road off-ramp.

On arrival, first responders found the man dead on the roadway. The suspect vehicle immediately left the scene after the accident. No details have been provided regarding the suspect or their vehicle. Authorities will release the identity of the deceased after notifying the next of kin.

An investigation is ongoing at this time.
