On Saturday night, a 10-year-old boy was hospitalized in extremely critical condition after an ATV accident near 71st Avenue and Roeser Road.
As per the initial information, rescue teams received reports of a rollover crash in the Salt River near 71st Avenue and Roeser Road, just outside the southwest border of Phoenix. Upon arrival, emergency crews found an off-road vehicle on its top that was submerged in nearly eight-feet-deep water.
The preliminary reports showed that the family of the 10-year-old informed the response team that the boy was pinned inside the vehicle. Reports further indicated that rescuers managed to free the boy and rushed him to the hospital. No other details are immediately available.
The cause of the crash remains under review.
