According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal crash was reported on Thursday in Vallejo.
Officials confirmed that one person died and one person was injured due to the motor vehicle accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred west on Interstate Highway 80 east of Magazine Street.
A Dodge Ram pickup truck was traveling west and suddenly left the roadway.
It crashed into an unoccupied box truck.
The passenger in the Dodge truck was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck.
The driver of the truck was hospitalized with serious injuries.
No further details pertaining to the accident have been released.
The cause of the wreck remains unknown.
The crash continues to be investigated by the CHP.
