The California Highway Patrol reported a motor vehicle crash on Sunday. The accident happened in South Orange County’s Las Flores neighborhood at around 4:15 p.m.
A couple was pushing their infant in a stroller along Antonio Parkway, on the sidewalk. A Hyundai sedan drove onto a curb and struck them.
The 11-month-old infant later passed away from his injuries at the hospital.
The man and the woman who were Residents of Rancho Santa Margarita were receiving treatment for severe injuries. Their identities are not yet known at this time.
A 54-year-old San Clemente man who was operating the Hyundai was detained on suspicion of drugged driving. The fatal crash is being investigated by the officials.
