The Tennessee Highway Patrol reported a motor vehicle accident on Tuesday.
The officials confirmed that American Idol finalist, 23-year-old Willie Spence died in a crash on Interstate 24 East.
The officials stated that Spence struck a tractor-trailer that was stopped on the side of the roadway.
The officials reported that both drivers followed the safety protocols at the time of the accident.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured in the fatal crash stated the officials.
The crash is being investigated by the THP to determine whether drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash.
More information regarding the crash will be provided after the investigation is completed.
