The San Marcos Police Department reported a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Highway 80 and River Road on Thursday. The officials confirmed that two people died in the accident. According to the officials, the deceased victims were identified as 20-year-old Sarah Moreno and 27-year-old Alonzo Morning.
Around Thursday night the crash happened when a motorcycle was traveling inbound on Highway 80 when it hit a Ford heading in the opposite direction. The Ford was in the process of turning left onto River Road. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger on the motorcycle, Sarah Moreno was taken to Seton Hays Hospital in Kyle with critical injuries. She was later pronounced dead.
The authorities are still investigating the cause of the fatal crash. It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
