A wrong-way accident killed 1 person and injured another on 210 Freeway and State Route 259 (San Bernardino, CA)

On Sunday morning, one person was killed and another received injuries following a wrong-way accident on 210 Freeway and State Route 259.

As per the initial information, the fatal accident took place on northbound State Route 259 interchange with the 210 Freeway at around 2:00 a.m. The preliminary investigation showed that a southbound vehicle went into the northbound lanes and crashed into another vehicle head-on. Just after the first collision, a third vehicle hit the first two vehicles.

On arrival, responders from San Bernardino Fire Department declared one person deceased. One person was transported to a hospital with unspecified injuries. Officials have not confirmed if drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash. No other details are available.

The incident remains under review.
