On early Sunday morning, a woman lost her life after she was struck twice when she stepped out of her car and started running across the freeway, just north of downtown Houston in Spring.
As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian accident took place at about 2:30 a.m. on I-45, the North Freeway, at Crossington Way. The preliminary investigation showed that a couple had just left a bar and got into an argument. Therefore, they pulled over onto the feeder road.
Afterwards, the woman came out of the car and attempted to run across the main lanes, running in front of cars. Just then, she was hit at least twice by a pickup truck and another car. She was declared deceased at the scene by the officials. Authorities believe that alcohol may have played a part in the incident. All drivers involved stopped after the crash and waited for the police to arrive and get their statements.
An investigation is ongoing.
