On Friday, a man lost his life after being hit by a vehicle on Interstate 80 in Vacaville.
The fatal pedestrian crash occurred on Interstate 80 at around 3:18 a.m., near Nut Tree Road. On arrival, authorities declared the victim deceased. It is unclear if the vehicle remained or fled the crash scene.
It is also unknown if the pedestrian was using a designated crosswalk at the time of the accident or not. The events that have led up to the crash remain under investigation. Authorities will reveal the identity of the deceased after notifying the next of kin.
An investigation is ongoing at this time.
