A vehicle struck and injured 2 pedestrians on Sonoma Mountain Parkway near Ely Road (Petaluma, CA)

On Monday morning, two people received injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Sonoma Mountain Parkway near Ely Road.

As per Petaluma police Lt. Tim Lyons, the pedestrian accident took place Petaluma Street near Ely Road on Sonoma Mountain Parkway at about 11:40 a.m. According to reports, a southbound vehicle did not yield as it turned onto Sonoma Mountain and hit two female pedestrians trying to cross on Sonoma Mountain Parkway in a crosswalk.

On arrival, paramedics took one of the victims to Petaluma Valley Hospital with moderate injuries and responders rendered aid to the other pedestrian at the scene for minor injuries. Authorities described the driver of the vehicle as a male. The identities of the injured pedestrians remain undisclosed at this time.

The crash remains under investigation.
