On Wednesday morning, a vehicle slammed into a utility pole, taking down power lines and blocking Louisville Road near Armona Church in Alcoa.
As per the initial information, the incident took place at about 11:45 a.m. The early reports showed that a 79-year-old woman rammed her vehicle into a utility pole near Armona Church for unknown reasons, causing the utility pole and power lines to fall and close the roadway.
The reports further revealed that the driver is in “stable condition”, but it is not known if she required hospitalization or not. The roadway will remain blocked for several hours while the Alcoa Electric Department does the repair work. Officials advised the motorists to take extra caution when driving through this area and allow additional travel time.
The crash remains under review.
