On Monday, a man lost his life after being struck by a vehicle while he was running through traffic across State Route 15 in City Heights.
The early reports indicated that male pedestrian was running from the center median across northbound freeway traffic south of University Avenue just before 4:30 a.m. when the incident happened. Witnesses informed that the man was hit by a white Tesla.
On arrival, first responders rushed the man to a hospital, where he was declared deceased. On the other hand, the Tesla driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with officials. The identities of the involved driver and the deceased have not been released. Two freeway lanes were shut down for about an hour during investigation.
The incident remains under review.
