A vehicle hit and killed a male pedestrian on 60 Freeway (El Monte, CA)

On Saturday night, a man lost his life after getting struck by a vehicle on 60 Freeway.

As per the initial information, the fatal hit-and-run crash took place at about 8:00 p.m. on Pomona (60) Freeway at the Rosemead Boulevard off-ramp. The preliminary investigation indicated that a vehicle hit the man for undetermined reasons. The driver of the involved vehicle left the scene after the collision.

The pedestrian suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials.  The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. No additional information has been provided.

The incident remains under active review.
