One person died following a bicycle crash that happened in Lafayette.
As per the initial information, the fatal incident took place in the 2100 block of NE Evangeline Throughway in which a vehicle and a bicycle were involved. The early reports showed that a bicyclist, who is yet to be identified, was struck by a vehicle for unknown reasons.
The Lafayette Police Department confirmed that the Thruway is now back open to traffic. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain unknown at this time. No additional details regarding the collision have been immediately released.
The cause of the crash remain under review.
