On Wednesday evening, a bicyclist was killed after being hit by a vehicle on a rural two-lane road in Jamul.
The fatal incident took place at about 7:25 p.m. on Lyons Valley Road a few hundred yards east of where the road splits off Skyline Truck Trail. Firefighter crews actively responded to the crash scene within 10 minutes and declared the victim deceased.
CHP officers also arrived soon and relieved the firefighters. As of now, officials did not provide any further details regarding the accident. The identity of the deceased has not been released at this time.
The authorities will continue to investigate the deadly collision.
