On Wednesday, a 2-year-old girl lost her life after being hit by a vehicle in the driveway of an Alhambra condominium complex.
Moments before 10:40 a.m., police got multiple 911 calls of an accident involving a toddler and a vehicle on the 2200 block of Larch Street, the Alhambra Police Department stated in a statement. Officers actively responded to the scene and found a 2-year-old girl with major injuries.
They attempted life-saving measures before the Alhambra Fire Department arrived at the scene and rushed the child to a local trauma center. The child later died of her injuries, authorities confirmed. The preliminary investigation revealed that the child had been fatally struck by a vehicle in the driveway of a condominium complex.
The driver of the car stayed at the scene after the crash and cooperated with traffic investigators. The parents of the child were in the immediate area when the incident happened. No other details are immediately available.
The Alhambra Police Department is looking into this crash.
